Front setback
By Struqt’s architects · Updated June 2026
Minimum distance from the front lot boundary (the street) to the building line. Sometimes overridden by neighbourhood character to match adjoining houses.
What it means for what you can build
The front setback often has to match the existing streetscape, so neighbourhood character can pull it deeper than the zone minimum.
